Gothenburg Mixed Doubles Cup

Gothenburg Curling Club welcomes you to the third edition of the Gothenburg Mixed Doubles Cup! After last year’s disappointment where we had to cancel due to the pandemic, we are back stronger than ever!
The tournamnet is part of the Nordic Mixed Doubles Tour and the World Curling Tour.
This is what we offer:
- A high quality tournament with competitive teams from several countries. The Tournament is classified as a “500 tournament” on World Curling Tour, one of few in Europe.
- Excellent ice conditions.
- One the most unique curling halls in the world, located in an old shipyard next to the wharf.
- Minimun four games per team.
- Highly experienced organizing team and ice crew.
- Live broadcasting from all sessions on Youtube.
- Fast results service with live scoring from all games.
- A non-profit policy of the tournament with a total expected prize fund of SEK 75,000 (> EUR 7,000).
Date: 28-30 December 2021 – First games are expected to start in the morning on the 28th and tournament finishes late afternoon/early evening on the 30th. Practice opportunities will be provided on the 27th in the afternoon/evening.
Number of teams: We aim for a tournament with 20 high quality teams from several countries. Teams will be accepted at the discretion of the Tournament Management.
System of play: Will depend on number of teams with four games guaranteed per team. 8 ends per game with a one stone shoot-out in case of a tie after 8 ends.
Venue: Gothenburg Curling Hall in Gothenburg Sweden. – Address is Valdemar Noréns gata 17, 41755, Göteborg. The closest bus stop is Pumpgatan or Regnbågsgatan.
The curling hall has four sheets of ice and a warm spectator area with a café that will serve refreshments, coffee and lighter meals during the tournament.

Prizes: First prize of at least SEK 30 000 is guaranteed (20 teams). Remaining prizes will be announced as soon as registration closes. The total prize fund is expected to be at least SEK 75 000 (20 teams). The tournament operates on a non-profit policy. Contribution to the prize pot of the Nordic Mixed Doubles Tour will be made.
Registration: Registrations are done continuously (but not later than October 31) and acceptance to the Tournament will be done on a continuous basis by the Tournament Management. Registration is no guarantee to get a spot as we will try to create a diverse and strong field as possible. However, early registration will always be an asset when being considered. Registration is done on the registration page. Registration is closed and tournament is full.
Registration fee: SEK 3000 (some 290 Euro) – Please pay the registration fee, to Bankgiro 364-8441 (Swedish teams) or Handelsbanken IBAN SE36 6000 0000 0007 5711 3702 (international teams). More instructions on payments will be provided to the teams via e-mail.
